Here's one of the most popular and versatile casting rods in the entire G. Loomis line, capable of fishing a variety of lures and techniques. A good rod for top water lures, it's also an excellent choice for grubs and worms, especially when fishing clear water with 10-12 pound test. Yet it will handle larger worms and up to 3/8 ounce jigs. It has enough power to move fish away from cover, but it's much better as an open water rod.

A good Choice for fishing light to medium jigs and worms, the 783 was designed to fish bass, northerns and even walleyes in certain applications. But it also makes a very nice light saltwater rod for snook, redfish and specs. It's powerful, with a light tip, which allows for a good hookset, and still has enough power to move fish away from cover, without feeling too stiff. If we had to choose one casting rod for all of our fishing, the 783 would be our choice.

Designed for Largemouth bass, but it doubles nicely for big northerns and light-duty Muskie fishing. The tip is stiff, with a magnum butt for moving large fish in heavy cover. It excels in brushy, tree-choked areas where you need a powerful rod to get the fish to the boat. It's also the perfect choice for fishing heavy jigs or large plastic worms in deep water where" feel " is paramount, and for heavy-duty spoon-jigging, where your ability to set the hook in deep water especially important.

Preferred by anglers fishing smaller, shallow rivers, this model has plenty of power to handle large steelhead and salmon. It also makes a good light sturgeon rod. It has a long rear grip, and comes with a graphite trigger reel seat.

  A stout, 8-foot version of our original backbouncing rod, designed mainly to fish for steelhead and salmon on larger rivers with heavy current. The extra length makes it a good choice for deep-water runs and pools where extra weight is needed and line control is more of an issue.

  This is Alaska's version of the backbounce rod. Designed to fish extremely heavy current and big baits, this rod is strong enough to handle the giant salmon of the Kenai. Not for the faint of heart. Heavy line, big weights and virtually zero drag.
