How Slow Jigging Started
Slow jigging technique was born in Japan in year 2007 by a fishing enthusiast, Mr. Sato Norihiro. (Sao san)
At that time , he even jumped into the sea water to observe the phenomenon of "boiling water" in order to study how the predatory fish catching small fish.
As the big fish in the sea besieged the small fish, the small fish has nowhere to escape thus forming the water surface "boiling"phenomenon.
When he was observing in the sea, he found that the big fish selects its prey when its prey shows like this :
- They first attack the small fish which is in shock or stun after collision during attack (falling in defoliation form).
- Next assault wounded and barely fleeing fish (fleeing in helical way)
- The last is to prey those are not hurt during the attack but fleeing in straight line and away from the group.
Through this natural phenomenon, Sato san started to think why not make a jig with a longer time-lapse fall to imitate a shocked or stunned bait fish, so that the big fish will have more chance to bite the jig? Later on Sato san developed the first slow-sinking jig and tested it at most shallow sea. He even created a new way of pitching the rod. This is the most basic beginning of slow jigging technique.
In the past years ,the slow jigging style is most growing fishing in Japan. During year 2014-2015, it became very popular in Southeast Asia. Chinese fishermen started to experience slow jigging in early 2016, now more and more speed jiggers in China ( including HongKong and Macao fishermen and fisherwomen) have changed to slow jigging style due to its effectiveness and advantage compare with speed jigging.
- The slow jigging can target a wider range of species from bottom fish (such as various kinds of groupers, snappers, codfish etc.) to fast swimming fish (such as tunas, amberjacks, yellowtails etc.), because they all like slow moving and falling jigs. So it helps to catch more fish
- Works not only when the fish is active ,also works when not active mood ;
- The fun part of slow jigging is to use thinner PE line with light tackles to catch big fish , you don't need big muscle exercise then you easily feel tired with speed jigging style . So slow jigging is suitable for a much wider range of persons , old or young ,men or women .
- As you are more aware about the jig movement, you have many tactical choices when you feel something not working due to the water current or heavy wind etc. You can change your jig weight or jig color, your hook size, your rod and reel setup, also to adjust your application of pitch and reeling. These tactical choices are actually easy to learn, because the theory of slow jigging is quite simple. All orders are shipped as soon as possible (most within 1-2 days of receipt). FH strives to maintain inventory on all items; however, stock outs occur. To confirm inventory, especially on orders with a tight deadline (scheduled fishing trip, vacation, special occasion, holidays) contact us. Let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

Oversized Merchandise

Packages over 72 inches in length and/or weighing more than 15 lbs may be classified as oversized or heavy merchandise. This includes fishing rods and other large items.

Packages over 96 inches (such as 1-piece rods 8 feet and longer) cannot be shipped and must be picked up in-store. This restriction does not apply to two-piece rods of any length.

These products are not eligible for free shipping, and additional shipping fees may be automatically applied at checkout.
High Value Merchandise

Signature may be required at delivery for orders over $250. Prepare accordingly. After three attempts by courier the package is returned to the sender. At which time the customer will have to wait for reshipment and pay for the transit costs.

If the customer fails to pay transit costs for the reshipment, the order will be cancelled and refunded less actual shipping costs.
International Shipping & Customs Information

After 15 days, returns require prior approval and may be subject to a 10% restocking fee. Please contact us for authorization before returning any items. During the holiday season, to support early shopping, we extend the return window by an additional 15 days.
